The 5 P’s Of Prosperity

I’m welcoming you to another great episode of the show. I want to remind you to check out our blogs and episodes that we have on iTunes as well as on BlogTalkRadio and other places. Also, check out the events that we got going on. We have lots of great events. If you ever have any questions, reach out to us and me specifically at Chris@MoneyRipples.com. You can email me and be able to ask questions, request topics for shows, and other things that we have available.

I want to talk about a topic that I haven’t taught for a little while, but I want to bring it back up because it’s so essential, especially if you want to see greater prosperity in your life. I refer to these as the five Ps of prosperity. Here’s what they are in this order, and then we’ll go into them in depth. The first P is Perspective. The second P is Purpose. The third P is Plan. The fourth P is Production, and the fifth P is Progression. It’s Perspective, Purpose, Plan, Production, and Progression. These go in absolute sequential order. They go in order, but they also feed off of each other too, so they work together in unison.

This is something that I found out firsthand when I started to work on myself and work on these principles, especially early on. I have been thinking a lot about this as I was sitting in an event with a couple that was teaching a lot about natural laws. They were talking about the book, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles, which is a great book if you haven’t read it. They were talking about these principles and about how everything is formulaic. There’s a law to everything. Everything works in a certain divine order. I want to go into that with a specific angle with these five Ps because these have helped me tremendously to be able to know where to focus my life. If you have got one mastered, that’s great. Let’s start working on some of the other ones. All these five Ps need to be worked on in unison.

Perspective

Let’s start with the first P, which is Perspective. The perspective you have determines the action you take. I saw this on Facebook. I had posted about a big a-ha that I have said a few times in different interviews and live events. I figured out I wanted to post that on Facebook. When you post something pretty bold, some people are going to say, “Amen,” and then other people are going to say, “I don’t think that’s total truth.” It already tells you that these people philosophize more than they ever apply and make money from it.

I only wanted to make it quick, so I wasn’t going to put a whole bunch of context behind it. The statement I made was if you keep saying you can’t afford it, it is not true. You can afford anything you prioritize. You will see this true in so many cases where people will say, “I can’t afford this. I wish I could take a trip with my family, but I can’t afford it,” but they can afford and be able to pay for multiple cellphones. They will pay to go eat out a lot. They will do all these things. They will say they can’t afford it, but what they’re saying is, “I’m not prioritizing it. I value these things more than these other things.”

It’s interesting. When I posted that, you get the different philosophies. Some people say, “I can’t afford is not true.” Some people asked, “How can I afford it?” Other people came out and said, “That’s a ridiculous statement. That’s what got our country the problems that it has had in the first place because people are crazy spenders.” I made a comment to some of those comments. I said, “You better watch how your perspective is because if you make that statement saying, “You are just blowing money,” that shows you more about your perspective than it ever does anybody else’s.

You can afford anything you prioritize. When you say you can’t afford something, it just means you value other things more. Click To Tweet

There weren’t other people asking. It’s interesting how people wouldn’t ask, “What do you mean? Tell me more about that.” They weren’t trying to understand my perspective. They were coming from their own perspective, and it triggered an emotion for them. For some of them, it was a rough emotion. They would get upset. A lot of them assumed that I was saying that people can go spend money on whatever they want. Others made other things that I don’t even know how they came with that perspective. It was hard to understand where they came out from the right field with some of these responses. The rest of the other people got it, especially if they have heard me teach. I teach a lot about stewardship. I wasn’t teaching people about blowing money.

My perspective was more about, “Don’t use money as an excuse that you can or can’t do anything. It might take time and effort, but don’t say you can’t afford it and then give up.” I made a comparison for somebody. I said, “If your child was taken for ransom for $100,000, I would guarantee you would find any way possible to get $100,000. You would find a way to afford it.” It’s about priorities, and that’s where perspective comes from. You got to understand that you have a perspective. You have gained this perspective over time through experience, from other people teaching it to you, or from assumptions that you make in life that you get a certain perspective.

If you want to have more abundance and prosperity in your life, you have got to come from a perspective of abundance. You cannot come from a perspective of scarcity, lack, limits, and things that will take away from you. You cannot come from a place where you expect to think, complain, and whine like everybody else, and even come from a place where you believe that money is not there. It’s too impossible. It’s mysterious. As much as you keep thinking from that perspective, whatever that perspective is, you will find it to be true.

There was a study that became a Nobel Prize type of study, and it was unexpected. Many scientists were debating whether energy was particles or waves. There were people that were wave theorists that believed in waves, and there were other people that believed in particles. They were particle theorists. They finally had a conference. They came together and would get up there with their microscopes and everything else they were trying to use to watch this. The scientist that believes in particles said, “Look right here. It’s particles. I’m right.” The people that were wave scientists would look in there and say, “No. It’s waves. Look at it. I see it.” They argued back and forth. They both saw what they believed.

This is so true when it comes to our own lives. You see the very things you expect to see. If you expect to see pain, torture, scarcity, and lack, you will always find it. If you expect to see abundance, freedom, and the ability to create, you start to see those things rather than consume as many of those people were assuming from my post, then you are going to come from that type of place. You have got to start with a firm foundation and perspective of abundance. If this is not in play, your actions are going to counter it. You are going to find the truth no matter what.

People say, “What’s true? Abundance or scarcity?” Technically, they are both true. There is scarcity and there is abundance. Which one do you choose to focus on? You could say, “There’s only one earth. If we mess up this earth, it’s gone. There’s no more earth.” You could also say, “We have got more than enough to spare in our lives in our world. We are not going to be wasteful. We are going to be wise stewards. We know that we have got enough. We don’t have to panic and worry about the earth destroying itself. Let’s do something about it.” There are very different perspectives. Remember this when it comes to money, prosperity, wealth, and everything else in your life for that matter. It’s always about perspective. Your perspective determines action.

Prosperity: If you want more prosperity, you’ve got to come from a perspective of abundance. You cannot come from a perspective of scarcity.

Purpose

I can go on this one for hours. I’m going to stop there. Let’s move on to some of these other Ps because I want to make sure you guys get some good nuggets here for your time. Hopefully, from that little portion alone about perspective, that gave you a lot to chew on and lots to consider. The second P is Purpose. Your purpose determines your path. This is your why. Why are you doing these things? Where’s the drive coming from? What’s your purpose behind it? When you have a perspective of scarcity, you will have a different purpose. You realize that purpose will reflect that scarcity. If your perspective is from survival and your purpose becomes survival, you will start planning for survival. You start doing that. You got to have a very solid purpose. This has got to come from the core. What’s that drive behind what you are doing? Why are you doing this every day? What is that purpose you are coming from?

When you are reading these episodes and your purpose is merely just to make money, you can get that. There’s no doubt. The problem with that is that it’s not enough from my perspective. This is my perspective. You can make money from applying these laws that we teach, but it’s also about creating a greater quality of life that goes beyond money.

Abundance can never stop at money because everything’s inter-correlated within your life. Your physical well-being is intertwined with your money as much as your social interactions are as well as your spiritual life. The things that are going on in your head and emotionally, all of these things are intertwined in our lives. It’s part of the bigger picture.

What is that purpose? Do you understand why you are doing what you are doing? I remember I asked people this question. I would say, “Why is money so important to you?” I remember a guy that said, “I want to pay the bills.” I was like, “What else? Why is that so important to you?” He was like, “I don’t want to die.” He had no real deep purpose. It was purely survival. Is there something deeper for you?

When I created the company, the reason I called it Money Ripples is because I have seen what’s happened in hundreds of people’s lives. They were creating money ripples from the things that I had taught. There were people’s lives that have been blessed. I remember the families that were blessed from that and how that could even affect generations beyond them as well as their communities and countries across the world. That ripple effect can expand out.

That’s why I created Money Ripples. That’s why I left a space of narrowly focusing on a couple of types of business owners and went to the bigger market of entrepreneurs and small business owners. I knew that what I taught had great value. It was something that made a difference in people’s lives where people were saving, keeping, and making more money than they had with any other program they had done. I wanted to make sure that was able to be spread and that can happen on a worldwide level.

You see the very things you expect to see. If you expect to see pain, torture, scarcity, and lack, you will always find it. If you expect to see abundance, you’ll see that. Click To Tweet

That’s the purpose of doing these episodes. I don’t make money from producing them. I make nothing from doing this. I do it for a couple of reasons. One, I love teaching new things. I love teaching people in a way that as much as I want to have a one-on-one conversation, it’s hard to do that. I want to make sure I can give you as much value as possible. I have plenty of time for my clients that have more than enough there.

It’s so nice to be able to know that I got something here that can be used. It can be, in some sense, evergreen. It can be used again and again. It can be used for months or years later. This is something that I want to create a legacy from, not just create a living. That’s the purpose. Everybody has a different reason behind things, but you got to understand the purpose. Is that purpose coming from abundance or does it come from that perspective of scarcity?

Plan

This leads to the third P, which is Plan. Your plan determines your path or direction. What direction do you want to go? How are you applying this? This is where the strategy comes into play. Once you are firm and you know what your perspective is, you have a perspective coming from the right perspective. Your purpose has meaning behind it. It’s also from that same perspective. You can then create a plan that’s from a place of abundance.

If you come from a place of scarcity, your plans will be about scarcity. If your plan is for survival, you will do that. You will survive. That’s the thing. We always survive. We get exactly what we expect in our lives. Don’t get me wrong. We have unexpected events that happen, but our lives typically don’t turn out too far off from what we were hoping they would be or from the direction that we were planning on going. We tend to try to find what we expect.

Your mind never wants to be wrong. Your mind always wants to be right even if it subconsciously has to do things in order to make that so. Even if there are things aligned to make you prosper, if you don’t expect to prosper, you will find a way to consciously or subconsciously sabotage any results you get. Be careful of that and make a plan according to that.

Many people will say, “I want the meat and potatoes. I want the strategies. Give us all the strategies.” I will teach that. When I do my events, will teach some of those strategies, but the principles that you teach are much more important. I know if people understand the principles of what I teach here, and even if you understand these principles I’m teaching, the strategies become very easy to apply in your own life on an individual level.

MORI 75 | Prosperity
Prosperity: Abundance can never just stop at money because everything’s intercorrelated within your life.

We need strategies and plan to do that, but we got to make sure it’s coming from the right perspective. That’s the hardest thing that I have to teach. It’s how to teach you to come from the right perspective and how you see the world, money, the government, and things like that. All these things are intertwined. How do you go about seeing money? Even in your own business, for those of you that are business owners, how do you see that? How you see the world will determine the purpose that you have behind it, and then that’ll determine a plan that you have.

Production

The fourth P is Production. Once we have a plan in place, we got to execute it. It’s got to happen. Productions do determine the results you get. This is where the rubber hits the road. You got to have a perspective change first. If you are not seeing production and results, it’s very possible that your perspective needs to shift for those results to happen.

There is a timeframe depending on what you are working on. It seems like the bigger that you do it, the longer it can take. There’s a gestation period you have to be patient with. As you are going through this perspective, your purpose, your why and why it’s so important as well as a plan of action and then executing that plan, you got to give it time. You got to execute. Execute consistently according to those principles and align your strategies and everything you are doing with that. Make sure you are executing from that place of abundance and not from a place of scarcity.

Progression

The final one is Progression. Progression determines prosperity. My personal belief is this. As much as you are progressing in your life, you are prospering. If you start regressing, you become impoverished. This goes well beyond money. As much as you are progressing, you are prospering. This is important to remember because many people will become impatient with trying to get the results. Sometimes, it can happen quickly and you will see it within hours, if not days. Other times, it can take months or even years to see the results depending on what you are working on and where you are coming from.

What I noticed, though, is that if you are not constantly working on that progression and improving, it’s like with this perspective of abundance. You can’t expect to think about it only for a few minutes and expect an abundance of things to happen. It’s got to be consistent day in and day out. Remember, all of us come from a place of abundance or scarcity. That doesn’t change. We are humans. We are going to have scarcity moments. Even the most abundant people will have scarcity creep in. The real test is what will you choose to focus on. How will you use it to bless lives? How will you use this perspective to keep improving? How will you focus on that perspective to be able to get what you want? Most people put on a perspective and focus on what they don’t want. They tend to go in that direction.

It’s like when I was riding a bike as a kid. I used to have training wheels. I was so scared to lose those training wheels. I remember one of my training wheels fell off, and I didn’t know it until my friend, Brad, told me. He said, “Your training wheel fell off.” I was like, “What?” I then crashed. All of a sudden, I biffed it because the fear crept in. I was worried.

You don't have to become a multimillionaire or billionaire to say you're prosperous. You can be prosperous living paycheck to paycheck right now based on what direction you're moving. Click To Tweet

Eventually, I started to learn how to ride with one training wheel. I started to lean more to the right-hand side where the training wheel was. I thought, “I can do this. This is not a problem. I might even balance in the middle, but don’t lean to the left because I will fall down.” I was riding my bike, and then all of a sudden, it fell off. I didn’t know it until somebody pointed it out. I crashed, but I realized that fear had fallen off. I said, “Maybe I can do this. Maybe it’s possible.”

I tried riding without the wheels. I was a little scared, but once I realized I could do it, that faith increased. It built. I said, “That’s cool. Now, I can go ride my bike anywhere I want and no training wheels will get in the way,” and I did. That’s the progression we have to go through. That’s the thing, even if you are like me and you were almost seven years old before you finally didn’t have training wheels. I know some kids that were 2 or 3 and they weren’t using training wheels. Some never used training wheels.

We all have different levels of where we perform and the different levels of where we come from. I might be a little bit of a slow learner, but eventually, I figure things out. I test them, break them, and try to test them again. That’s where I teach it to you to be able to help create a shortcut so you can learn it faster than I did. Remember, I came from being a financial advisor trying to teach people how to make money, or at least how to save money, but never how to make it. The real prosperity came when I started to reject those myths and truly accept true principles, align myself with them, have the right perspective of abundance, and have that firm purpose or core purpose that drives me.

Creating a plan and then executing that plan for production, and then progressing, growing, and improving over time, that’s where real prosperity happens. You don’t have to become a multimillionaire or billionaire to say you are prosperous. You can be prosperous living paycheck to paycheck based on what direction you are moving. Are you moving closer to those goals or are you moving further away? If you are moving closer to the goals, no matter what those goals are, no matter how big or how small they are, you are progressing, growing, and improving. That is prosperity.

Do not look at your circumstances and say, “I’m not prosperous because so-and-so is doing better than me. This has happened. That has happened. This person doesn’t understand principles and they have more money than me.” Stop comparing yourselves to other people. Start looking at your own life. Start to look to see where you can improve, and go at your pace. We all want to go faster, but don’t force it, because anytime you force things, you break them. Don’t force results. Work on them. Constantly try to improve them. Be patient with yourself. The more patient you are, the more you will realize that you will get it.

Those are the five Ps of prosperity. It’s Perspective, Purpose, Plan, Production, and then finally, Progression. Start to work on each of those. If you find that you are not getting results, go back to the plan. If you don’t have a plan, go back to your purpose. If you don’t know if you have a purpose, go back to your perspective and work backward. It does work sequentially. Start to master those things. Go back to the core of your perspective, whether you are in abundance or scarcity on how you are seeing the world.

MORI 75 | Prosperity
Prosperity: If you’re moving closer to the goals, no matter how big or small, you are progressing.

It could very well be that maybe you understand a lot of abundance principles. Maybe you understand these principles because all principles are abundant as God is abundant. If you don’t understand what’s happening, you might need to have somebody look from a different perspective to tell you. It can be someone who’s been there, or not even been there, but doing it. Ask them, “What do you see is happening? What’s going on?”

I would recommend each of you that you create a mastermind of sorts. Get a group of a few of you together. It could be 3, 5, or 7 people. I wouldn’t go more than nine. It gets to be crazy once it gets about 9 or 10. Create a mastermind of sorts and start to try to align yourself with these principles. Share them. Teach them. The more you teach, the more you use them together. Find ways to interact and learn.

Use these episodes as a way to do that groundwork. Say, “Let’s master this episode. Let’s apply what Chris is teaching in our lives and see what happens.” See what happens to your businesses. If you are in network marketing, watch what happens. You guys start to grow and improve together because you have the right perspective behind everything.

People in business aren’t taught from abundance. They are typically taught from scarcity as the rest of the world is. How can you do that? Get together and create mastermind groups. Learn, grow, and focus on mastering these five Ps. As you do so, not only will you see financial abundance, but you will see abundance in all areas of your life. This is something that will affect you and create greater prosperity. You are not truly prosperous if it’s just money. I tell people all the time, “Money without a mission is merely materialism.” If you don’t have a true mission and you don’t have these things backing you up and aligned with who you are, it won’t work.

I want you to have a great, prosperous week. Apply these things. Make them work. Become true testimonials that principles govern in all places at all times. These are things that are never-ending. They always work. Apply them again and again. Remember, if you have got questions, ask me. You can shoot me an email at Chris@MoneyRipples.com. Follow me on Facebook @MoneyRipples. I’d love to be able to serve you and help you in any way I can. Go and make it a prosperous week. Thanks, everybody.
