The Abundance Mindset Matters More Than Money Strategy

Is Your Energy Blocking Your Wealth? Why Mindset Matters More Than Strategy

When most people think about building wealth, they jump straight to strategy investments, passive income, interest rates, and spreadsheets. But after working with hundreds of clients over the years, I’ve realized that the biggest roadblock to financial freedom isn’t external it’s internal.

That’s why I brought Chelsea Myers on the Money Ripples podcast. She’s someone who understands money not just from a tactical level, but from a deeply energetic one. Chelsea is a private advisor to ultra-successful entrepreneurs, visionary founders, and creatives. She helps them get to the root of their relationship with money, their purpose, and their identity.

Her message is one I wish more people heard: Your relationship with money is a direct reflection of your relationship with yourself. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or even unfulfilled despite your income this is the episode for you.

Money Isn’t the Problem Your Energy Around It Might Be

So many of us grew up believing that if we just work hard enough, we’ll be successful. But what happens when you’ve put in the effort, the strategy is sound, the income is growing and something still feels off?

Chelsea shared how even high-income earners often struggle with scarcity. Why? Because they’re still operating from subconscious programming. Maybe they were taught money is stressful. Maybe they were told you have to hustle to earn your worth. Or maybe they grew up watching loved ones struggle, and now more money feels unsafe, not secure.

“Money is a magnifier of the soul,” I told Chelsea. And she added, “Money is a mirror.”

We both agreed: Money will amplify who you already are. If you’re aligned, generous, grounded it shows. If you’re anxious, desperate, or ashamed it shows.

From Scarcity to Stewardship: It Starts with Awareness

You might be thinking, “Okay, Chris, this sounds great… but how do I actually shift from scarcity to abundance?”

Chelsea gave one powerful tool: Visualize money as a relationship. Ask yourself:

  • If money were a person, would it want to be in a relationship with me?
  • How do I talk about it?
  • Do I act grateful, nurturing, and welcoming?
  • Or do I act clingy, avoidant, or resentful?

That one mindset shift can reveal a lot. And here’s the thing this isn’t about judging yourself. It’s about awareness. When you can spot the patterns, you can rewrite them.

Another tip she offered: Get curious about your programming. What did you see, hear, or feel about money growing up? Are you loyal to an old story that no longer serves you? Write it down. Give your subconscious a voice. Then decide: Do I want to keep this story, or replace it with one that aligns with the life I actually want?

    Affirmations Without Energy Won’t Work

There’s a lot of buzz around affirmations and for good reason. Words matter. But as Chelsea pointed out, if you don’t believe what you’re saying, those affirmations can actually backfire. Instead of raising your vibe, they create cognitive dissonance that reinforces your disbelief.

So if you’re repeating things like “I am wealthy, money flows to me easily” but deep down you’re thinking, “Yeah, right,” you’re better off starting with a statement you can feel into. Something like, “I’m learning how to feel more aligned with money.” Build from there.

What’s Right in Front of You?

One of the most practical takeaways from this episode was Chelsea’s advice to simply ask: “What’s right?”

If you’re feeling frustrated with your finances even if you’re making money chances are you’re focusing on what’s missing. But by shifting to what’s working (even if it’s just your favorite cup of tea), you start building a sense of appreciation and energetic alignment that actually attracts more.

That’s not fluff. That’s neuroscience. Your brain starts to look for what’s right when you ask it to and what you focus on expands.

The Ripple Effect of Inner Wealth

As I shared in the episode, doing inner work like the hypnotherapy I invested in earlier this year has given me more ROI than some of my real estate deals. Because money without peace is just a number. But money that flows from alignment?

    That’s freedom.

Chelsea and I both believe that generational transformation is possible. That we can teach our kids (and ourselves) to live from worthiness, not from the wounds of the past. That’s why she created Meditation, her movement helping children reconnect with their creativity and self-worth early in life.

Because when people are grounded in who they are, they don’t just get rich—they live rich.

    Final Thoughts

This episode is your reminder that abundance isn’t just a bank account it’s a mindset. If you’ve been doing all the “right” things but still feel like something’s missing, pause and reflect. Maybe it’s not your strategy that needs to change. Maybe it’s your relationship with money itself.

You’re not broken. You’re powerful. And when you align your energy, the money starts showing up not because you forced it, but because you became the version of yourself who could receive it.
